The first known Olympics was in the summer of 776 B.C at Mt Olympia, a site in southern Greece where thousands of people went to worship their gods. In fact, the Olympics were created in honor of ancient Greece’s most famous god: Zeus, king of the gods. And the number of people who participated was over 11 thousand athletes!.
In 1896, the first modern Olympics games were in Athens Greece. The games had 14 nations and 280 participants, competing in 43 sporting events
Room 6 and I researched about athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics and my athlete is Dylan Schmidt. He does trampolining and unfortunately he came 7th because he failed to land the flip. He has zero gold medals, zero silver medals and one bronze medal. He is 27 years old and he competes for New Zealand.
Keith Haring was born in America in May 1958. He grew up in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the oldest of four children. He started to draw right away. He is a well known artist and we tried to use his simple type of outline to create our athlete. This is mine showing Dylan Schmidt:
